FAS, the state national training authority, Rehab and the National Learning Network provide many training courses for people, including disabled people. Many of these courses are provided in training centres which are accessible to disabled people, and there are special needs assistants and assistive technologies in several of them. Most of these courses are certified by FETAC, NFQ and City and Guilds and are nationally and internationally recognised.
FAS is the national training authority in Ireland. It runs many training courses and apprenticeships which are focussed on giving people the skills to get employment. They have training centres in each county of Ireland. Most are accessible to disabled people. Under certain conditions, FÁS provides financial support in the form of Allowances to assist with its programmes, for example Training, Travel, Accommodation and Meals.
