The rights and entitlements of disabled people are very wide ranging and cover a lot of areas. We have divided this page into 5 sections covering advocacy, rights and entitlements, disability laws, and sectoral plans.

Description: The National Advocacy Service assists disabled people by providing the following: 1. Assist you to speak up for yourself 2. Help you to decide what you want 3. Help you to say clearly what you want 4. Provide you with support to communicate with service providers 5. Support you to appeal a decision or make a complaint It provides an independent guide to services and options, and someone to assist a disabled person at official proceedings and, in some instances, through the move to living in the community. It is particularly important that an independent person is available to them where they are totally dependent on a single service provider. Essentially the service will level the playing field and provide a voice for the more vulnerable of people with disabilities
