FÁS eCollege
FÁS eCollege offers learning and development opportunities through the medium of the internet. Courses are available from very basic to advanced levels in a range of categories, including
e-Learning is a most flexible way to learn and is particularly suitable for individuals who wish to study at their own pace and at a time and place that is convenient to them. Each eCollege course is divided into training modules with an indication offered on how long it will take the learner to complete the module. Registration with eCollege allows for Username and Password to be valid for a period of 6 months. Technical support is available and FÁS eCollege is currently developing a learning management system that will facilitate tutorial support to learners.
Fees for the courses vary but they are available free of charge to those in receipt of many state benefits, including disability allowance. e-Learning may not suit everyone and requires planning self-discipline and time management skills to ensure that the learner derives maximum benefit.

FÁS IT Training
FÁS offers a wide range of training courses in the Information Technology area. These can be full time or evening courses, training run on behalf of FÁS by outside contractors and courses specifically for people with disabilities. Mainstream training courses are offered in FÁS training centres and occasionally off site.
These courses range from the Introductory to the Advanced. For people with disabilities who require more intensive supports than might be available in FÁS mainline training, FÁS has contracted with specialist training providers to deliver this training. Many of these courses are in the IT area.
